How do I get my child’s username and password?
Parents can contact teachers for help with students’ username and passwords to their Pearson Success Net, Success Net Plus and Realize accounts.
Where can I find information about the programs my child is using in school?
The Huntsville City Schools Weebly is set up to share information on topics concerning the 1:1 Initiative. The web address for the weebly is: http://huntsvillecityschools.weebly.com/index.html. It is a public website and does not require a password and no personal information is captured by the user when accessing the site.

On the Weebly homepage, you will find sections organized by category: Elementary, Middle, and High School Curriculum. Each button under the category will take you to a site that will give you information about the program (http://www.mypearsontraining.com).
The second tab on the homepage bar will take you to the iPad Resources page. It will have information about all the apps that are on the district-issued iPads.
The third tab is for Internet Resources.
The fourth tab is Training Videos. The videos include how to use the iPad, HP laptop, Dell Netbook, and Edmodo.

ACCESSING INTERNET AT HOME WITH YOUR CHILD’S COMPUTER
There are several ways that your child can access the Internet at home in order to get to their online Pearson textbooks.
1. If your home computer is a landline/DSL, where your computer is a desktop, there are several options.
a. The cable that plugs into the back of your computer tower can be unplugged and plugged into the Ethernet port on the student’s laptop.
b. A router can be used to connect more than one computer to the landline/DSL connection. See example below.

1. Clear browsing history, including cookies and add-ons. To do this, follow the steps below.
a. Open your browser.
b. If you don’t see the Menu as shown below, right click on the solid blue area on the right side of the
browser and click on Menu Bar. This will add the Menu to your browser.
3. If you have wireless Internet at home and it is secured (password protected), then your child can connect wirelessly to your home network and access their Pearson textbooks. You will need to know your password and just enter it when prompted to connect.
SUGGESTIONS FOR KEEPING YOUR STUDENT’S COMPUTER IN GOOD WORKING ORDER

To Restart Your Computer
1. Click on the Windows logo in the lower left hand corner of your screen.
2. Use the arrow to the right of the "Shut down" button to view an expanded menu. Select "Restart" from the menu to reboot your computer.
Special Note: You should not use the Power button to turn off or restart you computer unless you computer is "frozen" and you don't have any other choice.
